The Dragons U20s gave up a useful half time advantage at Abertillery Park last night and eventually went down 29-14 to the Ospreys in the WRU Reebok Regional Championship. And that means the region's slim hopes of reaching the final in April have now disappeared.

Full back Daniel Fox gave The Dragons the perfect start with a try inside 12 minutes after an initial break from Marcus Johnstone, but despite being short of full strength due to international duties, the Ospreys struck back with a try from tight head prop Lloyd Jones after a quickly taken penalty. A Nicky Roberts penalty edged the Ospreys in front, but The Dragons led 14-8 at half time courtesy of a try from loose head prop Richard Cornock who drove his way over after The Dragons won a line out five metres from the Ospreys line.

The second half belonged totally to the Ospreys with elusive wing Lee Bevan chipping over Fox to score his side's second try and Roberts charging down a clearance kick for the Ospreys' third. Roberts converted both for a 22-14 lead and after Dragons' flanker Robert Nash was yellow carded by referee Huw Watkins on the hour, the home side were unable to fashion a comeback. In fact the Ospreys extended their lead when Bevan seized on an error in side the Dragons' 22 to score his second try of the evening which Roberts once again improved.

The game between the Scarlets and Blues at Narberth was postponed due to a frozen pitch.
