Dragons Academy members played a big part in Wales U19s securing the Grand Slam last night (Thursday) with a third of the team made up of Academy members and players getting in on the scoring act.

Scrum half Rob Lewis scored a brace of tries while his brother winger James crossed for a try.

The win ends Wales' preparations for the U19 World Cup in Dubai in tremendous style with a 32-12 win over the French youngsters and secures them the Grand Slam. The win is the Welsh youngsters sixth on the bounce following their win over Australia Schools in December and is the best ever set of pre-World Championship results in the 12 years of Welsh participation in the competition.

Coach Justin Burnell commented, “The first part of the season has been hugely encouraging, but now we have to step up a gear or two in Dubai where our first opponents on April 5 are New Zealand.”
