Luscombe Up for The Italian Job

Dragons centre Hal Luscombe is available for Friday night's crucial Heineken Cup play off game against Overmach Rugby Parma.

The issue of insureance cover for Luscombe has been cleared up for the game and it is a massive boost for The Dragons to have the international cente available for the crunch match.

Speaking in the Western Mail Luscombe commented, "I'm very happy because they've been really good to me at Rodney Parade over the years. I would love to repay them by putting in a great performance to ensure Heineken Cup rugby. It's where I started my career and where I was given the opportunity to play rugby for a living. When I cam over from South Africa, I was only 18. But the people at Newport and all the supporters have been great to me. I owe them so much. I'll definitely be leaving with a lump in my throat."

Following Friday night's game, Luscombe departs to Argentina along with Dragons team mates Rhys Thomas, Ian Gough, Luke Charteris and Nathan Brew for the Welsh tour. However, Luscombe insists he is only thinking of the Heineken Cup qualifying game saying, "I will be putting everything into it. I'll be going flat out, I won't be holding back for the Test matches. This is a really massive game. It's just an absolute must-win game. I just couldn't imagine The Dragons not being in the Heineken Cup and I think it would be a weaker competition without them."
