The Dragons U16s missed out on a first WRU Reebok Regional Championship title when they went down 36-12 to the Ospreys in Sunday's final at Rodney Parade.

Having led 12-3 at the interval, The Dragons fell away in the second half as the Ospreys struck with 33 unanswered points to carry off the title. Ospreys captain Daniel Biggar gave the Ospreys a 15th minute lead with a penalty, but The Dragons redressed the balance straight from the restart when centre Adam Hughes was sent in at the posts for Danny Ellis to convert. Ellis added a try before the interval, but in the second half it was a different story altogether.

First, Ashley Beck scored a try which Biggar converted and then Dean Williams charged down a clearance kick for his side's second try. Kristian Phillips, Beck and Biggar rounded things off for the Ospreys with three further tries which Biggar converted.

The Dragons were outstanding in the first half with captain and no.8 Adam Filier leading the way. But for some reason, they lost their direction in the second half and the Ospreys made hay.
