The Dragons' U20's were unable to close the gap on the other three regions as they went down 45-8 to the Ospreys in their latest WRU Reebok Regional clash with the Ospreys at Rodney Parade.
Leading 24-3 at the interval, the Ospreys completed the double over The Dragons thanks to seven tries, plus a 10-point haul from Leigh Halfpenny.
James Pike began the rout with a try in the opening 10 minutes and that was followed up by further tries from wing Jason Howells, centre Liam Rice, Halfpenny (2) and prop Phil Price (2).
The Dragons replied with a try from the hugely impressive replacement loose head James Owen and a penalty from outside half David Langdon. However, it was all too little too late as they slipped to yet another defeat.
Regional high performance manager for The Dragons Ron Shottle said, "Once again we have shown up well in the forwards. But on the night we were not good enough all round and we are obviously disappointed with the result
"Having said that, we have not lost any faith and we are pleased with the manner in which these boys have prepared fof these games."
Meanwhile the Scarlets won 21-10 at the Blues having sent out a side including senior internationals Lou Reed, Ken Owens and Martyn Thomas.
