The Dragons U18s start their WRU Reebok Regional campaign on Wednesday 29th August when they travel to Llandarcy to take on the Ospreys.
Looking ahead to the fixture U18 Team Manager Billy Vivian said, "Our first game is against the main contenders for the U18 title the Ospreys, however, this season we have strength in depth. Not only can we field a strong starting XV but we also have a strong bench as well. There are a number of youngsters supporters should look for such as second row Tom Crandon and our back row trio of Morgan Allen, Rhys Jenkins and James Thomas all of whom should be in the mix for international honours come January.
"Among the backs Ieaun Coombes is a talented youngster and featured for The Dragons in the Uskmouth Power Men of Gwent 7s competition. U16 cap Rhys Howells, fly half Danny Ellis and U18 cap Adam Hughes also possess the talent to be future senior Dragons. Expectations for this squad are high and while we had the personnel last season for whatever reason is wasn't replicated on the field this season we expect to. Our first game is away which in itself is a huge challenge but after the opening game we are home for the next three games and that will play a large part in how far we go in the competition."
The Dragons U18 team for the opening game against the Ospreys on Wednesday (7.15pm) will appear on the website on Tuesday.
