Janice puts her feet up

For many of the school kids the excitement as the school year draws to an end has been slightly jarred. This is because they have missed taking part in their exhilarating regular Gateway sessions, and for many they are worried, as Janice never misses a lesson.

Well the reason is that the first full time female development officer, our very own Janice Chappell, has been under the surgeons’ knife and is currently on leave whilst recovering from a small leg operation.

Janice has struggled throughout the school year, but has insisted on delivering the full Gateway programme to her thousands of expectant pupils. Her pain has been hidden behind her beaming smile as she has continued to give her charges the full benefit of the Gateway scheme.

Her convalescence during the summer holiday will ensure that come the return to school in September she will be ready and fully fit to develop her good work in helping the kids in Newport and around the Region reach their full potential during their lessons.

I am sure you will all join us in wishing Janice a speedy recovery.
