Wales wing Aled Brew puts his return to the international scene down to the Dragons.
Speaking ahead of his first outing in a Wales shirt since 2007, Brew stressed the importance of his time at the region to his development as a player.
“I do tend to play well at the Dragons, they get the best out of me and I’m thankful they pick me every week.
“I’ve been out for three years. After leaving the Dragons I had to go back to the Ospreys because I was on loan, but I had limited game time with them.
“I wanted a change, I enjoyed the way the Blues played and thought I’d make my mark there but Leigh Halfpenny and Tom James were playing well so I thought I’d go back to the Dragons.
“I’m more mature in my decision-making now and a slightly better player though it’s taken me three years after leaving the Dragons to get back in so I’ll stick with them now!”
Everyone at Rodney Parade hopes that Aled can carry his impressive regional form into the Fiji clash. Hopefully he – as well as Dan Lydiate and Toby Faletau, who are also in the match-day squad – can help Wales to victory on Friday night, and we’re sure that all Dragons fans will want to wish them well.
