A high level of staff absenteeism on the matchday meant resources were stretched which led to long waiting times for drinks service, and for collecting deposits for returning our branded reusable cups. We accept that certain aspects of the bar operations were not acceptable.
The reusable cups tackle the environmental impact disposable cups have on the planet. With their first drink, supporters pay a £1.00 deposit for their reusable cup. Every subsequent drink will be poured into a clean reusable cup. When the supporter has finished drinking, they can either keep the cup as a souvenir or return it in exchange for their deposit.
The following alterations have therefore been made which will be in effect from our match against Castres tomorrow night:
- Concourse bars will stay open for ten minutes after the final whistle to collect cup deposits.
- Immediately after the final whistle the Cabin Bar, situated behind the WFAC Family Zone next to Gate 3, will be setup as a dedicated bar to return the cups and collect deposits.
Further to this in order to improve access to bars in the Hazel Stand:
- Two mobile hawkers will operate in the Hazel Stand and Terracing to serve drinks to supporters.
- The Real Ale Bar and Can Bar will be open at Gate 2. These are open to all Hazel Stand and Hazel Terrace ticket holders.
