Celtic Cup Clash Switched to Ystrad Mynach

Dragons A will play their final group match of this season’s Celtic Cup competition against Scarlets A at Ystrad Mynach tonight (Sunday) at 6pm after bad weather forced the switch in venue.

The match which was originally scheduled to be played at Llandovery on Saturday afternoon, was first postponed until today due to the weather, will now see the Scarlets forfeit home advantage as the clash will be played at Dragons trainnig base, which boasts a 3G pitch.

Hazardous playing and travel conditions at Llandovery caused by adverse weather Friday and Saturday led to the decision to change venue.

Scrum half Dan Babos is one of five changes for Dragons as the team look to finish the campaign with victory. The four other changes are amongst the forwards as a new-look front row sees Scott Evans and Zac Hewlett called up to pack down with Chris Coleman.

James Thomas moves from the back row to the second row, where Max Williams is given a start at lock.

The final change is the selection of Ben Fry at blindside flanker, where he will play alongside captain Lennon Greggains and Taine Basham.

Brodie Coghlan, Ed Scragg, Rob Brookson and Llew Smith are among the new faces called onto the replacements as Dragons look to bounce back from defeat against Leinster A last weekend.

Following the Blues win against Ospreys Development in their final group games, the Scarlets need a bonus point win to re-take top spot, whilst the young Dragons will be hoping for a second win of the tournament to take third spot.
