AMOS - PATIENCE WAS REWARDED IN WIN

Wing Hallam Amos admitted Dragons had got their rewards for a patient performance as they blitzed Timisoara Saracens in the second half at Rodney Parade.

Dragons had edged to a 17-3 lead by the break in the European Challenge Cup encounter before a second half surge saw the home side run out 59-3 winners – the joint record winning margin in Europe.

“These games are tough,” said Amos. “A lot of fans can expect you to score loads of tries in the first five minutes, but these guys are fired up and they started really well and their scrum was pretty tidy.

“We stuck at it and we got the rewards in the end. In the second half the likes of Jordan (Williams) were carving up and super Gav (Henson) came on with a nice little cameo. Class is permanent.

“It will be different next week against Clermont,” he added. “They are one of the best teams in Europe, but this is why we play the game.

“When we played over there it was one of the best atmospheres I’ve experienced. Hopefully, we can get the win.”
