Hundreds of aspiring young rugby players from across the region will descend on Rodney Parade for a festival of rugby this weekend (Saturday, May 11th and Sunday, May 12th) as the Dragons Cup Finals are held over two days.
The Dragons Cup – proudly sponsored this season by Monmouthshire Building Society – is a fantastic competition that sees junior rugby clubs from right across the region battle it out for a spot at finals day at the home of the Dragons.
The cup and plate competitions, that run from under 12s up to youth level, have grown in participation numbers over the years with hundreds of spectators at Ystrad Mynach for the recent semi-finals.
The finals are now being played at Rodney Parade for a first time in what will be a fantastic spectacle and great experience for all the young players.
Executive Chairman David Buttress said: “It is a huge achievement for these teams to reach finals day after fierce competition through the knock out rounds. I hope they enjoy every second, make some wonderful memories and that we see some of them back in years to come running out for the Dragons.”
There is a charge of £3 for adults to enter the Dragons Cup Finals and no charge for Under-16s. Finals Day programmes will be provided on entry. Only the Bisley Stand and North Terrace will be open to spectators.
The Concourse Bar and Rodney's Bar will both be open throughout the weekend. The Concourse snack shack will also be open for hot refreshments.
Please note, parking is limited at Rodney Parade. There will be a £5 charge for those wishing to park inside the stadium, payable on entry at the main gate.
