Dee back in contention for Wales

04/02/2020

Hooker Elliot Dee is back in contention for Wales after the Dragons hooker returned to training this week.

Dee missed the Guinness Six Nations opener with Italy with a rib injury.

The 25-year-old from Newbridge had featured in every international since being an unused replacement in the 2018 autumn encounter Australia. He played in every Test last year, helping Wales win a Grand Slam and make the World Cup semi-finals.

After being forced off in the European victory over Enisei-STM he sat out the 42-0 win over Italy at Principality Stadium.

However, Dee is now back and available alongside Gareth Davies (groin) and Owen Watkin (knee).

“It’s nice to see them back and into training", said Wales Defence Coach Byron Hayward. "They’re fit and ready to go.

“We’re not too bad at the moment. There are a couple of knocks, bumps and bruises but nothing very serious.

“We came out of last weekend in a pretty good place in terms of a physical and medical point of view.”
