Lock star Joe Davies is more than happy to carry on under the radar and be a real unsung hero for Dragons.
Davies has featured in 16 games in all competitions this campaign – only second row partner Matthew Screech has played more minutes.
The 24-year-old – who has now racked up 59 appearances for the region – always brings an abrasive and hardened edge to his game.
And the Newport-born forward is happy to continue to be known as a grafter if he does a successful job for the team.
"That's my job, it's what I pride myself on, grafting, and I feel if I do the work that you don't see. I'm happy with that," said the former Wales Under-20s second row.
"I don't need or require to be seen. I don't even feel the need to speak really. My role is to be the 'soldier'."
Dragons have not played since mid-January after last weekend’s game with Benetton Rugby was postponed due to adverse weather conditions.
Dean Ryan’s men now return to action in Scotland against Glasgow Warriors on Saturday evening and Davies hopes the team shows the benefit of the break.
“It was tough, especially with so many games on the trot until the break, but we got through it,” said the lock.
“We have had four weeks with no game, we had a bit of time off and a break but were in preparing hard for Benetton before it was postponed.”
“It's been a funny one really with the schedule. We started the season late and we're finishing late as well.
“But, as you can see from our results, it’s actually worked out for the best for us. We’ve won the last four at home and hopefully that will help us build our momentum."
Davies has been busy on and off the field this season, as he has combined rugby with fatherhood and his studies. But he believes he has found the right mix.
“My little baby (James) is a good sleeper and university work is going alright,” he smiled.
“I’m doing Sports Management at Cardiff Met. I’m in my final year and it has been a long old time!
“In terms of using my studies in the future, I'm not sure. I'm still young so haven’t decided on what I'm going to do. I have the option do a masters or PGC. It opens up options for me.
“It fits in well with my rugby and the coaches here are good,” he added.
“I've got university on Thursday afternoons and, for the last six years, Chappy (James Chapron, General Manager) has been good at giving me time to get the academic work done.”
