Brown & Dee return to face Ospreys

03/01/2020

Wales internationals Leon Brown and Elliot Dee return to the starting line-up for the Guinness PRO14 derby day clash with Ospreys at Rodney Parade on Saturday (kick-off 3pm).

Dean Ryan, Director of Dragons Rugby, makes four changes to his team as the Men of Gwent look to make a winning start to 2020 on home soil.

Dee and Brown pack down alongside Brok Harris, who this week signed new terms with the region, while there is also a recall for lock Joe Davies in the second row to partner Cory Hill.

The only change to the back line is the return of centre Tom Griffiths who will play alongside Tyler Morgan in midfield.

Scrum half Tavis Knoyle returns among the replacements.

Boss Ryan is looking forward to the final game of a busy festive derby period and insists Dragons must keep the focus on themselves.

"It’s important that we keep challenging ourselves to get better and we don’t allow where they (Ospreys) are and what they are going through to become a focus point,” he said.

“Preparing to play a side that has been pretty seriously wounded from the last game is a new experience for us. We have got to get our preparation right to ensure we get into the game in the right shape.

“We’ve got to make sure we are in the right place to not allow them to bounce back against us.”
