Bristol go strong for Euro clash

17/09/2020

Bristol Bears face Dragons in the club’s first ever home European knockout fixture on Friday (BT Sport 2, KO: 7.45pm) - and have named a power-packed side to face the Welsh region.

The two sides have met in the Challenge Cup twice previously with each club registering a home win in the pool stage of the 2006/07 campaign.

Bristol have lost just one of their last ten Challenge Cup games and are unbeaten in their last six in a row – the club’s best run in the competition.

Pat Lam makes 14 changes from the side that faced Wasps last weekend for the Anglo-Welsh Cup clash.

Bears include nine internationals in the starting line-up as Steven Luatua skippers the side from the back row.

Harry Randall returns from a laceration injury to be included among the 23-man squad on the replacements bench.

Bristol Bears: 15. Charles Piutau; 14. Luke Morahan, 13. Semi Radradra, 12. Piers O’Conor, 11. Henry Purdy; 10. Callum Sheedy, 9. Andy Uren; 1. Jake Woolmore, 2. Harry Thacker, 3. Kyle Sinckler, 4. Dave Attwood, 5. Chris Vui, 6. Steven Luatua (c), 7. Ben Earl, 8. Nathan Hughes.
