Wales denied Grand Slam in late twist

21/03/2021

Wales - who included Dragons duo Elliot Dee and Leon Brown - were denied a Six Nations Grand Slam at the death after a last-gasp Brice Dulin try left them heartbroken in Paris and sealed victory for France.

Despite the result this was an impressive performance by Wayne Pivac’s side who have made tremendous strides since the Autumn Nations Cup.

The Grand Slam may be gone, but a losing bonus point means Wales are still in contention to be crowned Six Nations champions depending on the result of France’s rearranged clash with Scotland next weekend.

Tries from Romain Taofifenua, Antoine Dupont, Charles Ollivon, and Dulin along with 10 points from the boots of Matthieu Jalibert and Romain Ntamack secured a bonus point win for France.

Dan Biggar, Josh Navidi, and Josh Adams scored Wales’ tries, while Biggar kicked a further 15 points.
