Keddie salutes super support

07/01/2022

Captain Harrison Keddie has thanked supporters for a fantastic support throughout 2021 – and spoken about the ambition within the playing squad for 2022.

Dragons have been without a game since mid-December after Covid outbreaks saw the festive derby games away at Ospreys and Scarlets and against Cardiff Rugby on home soil postponed.

New restrictions also mean that supporters are currently unable to watch fixtures that are being played behind closed doors.

Keddie admits it has been a frustrating period for the players but has paid tribute to the unwavering backing from fans over the last 12 months as he looks to a bright future.

“On behalf of all the playing squad, I’d like to thank the fans for their support throughout 2021,” said Keddie, who has captained the team on several occasions this season.

“Throughout the year all the messages and backing we have had has been superb.

“It was great to welcome the fans back to Rodney Parade at the start of this season and we now look forward to the day they can come back again. We hope you all stay safe and we’ll see you all soon.

“It’s obviously been a frustrating time over the festive period with the big derby games called off,” he added.

“But as a squad it’s now about looking forward and we’re excited about what we can achieve together in 2022.

“We’re all working hard to bring success to the region, and the continued support of our fans is hugely appreciated.”
