Centre Clark to make Dragons move

02/03/2022

Exciting centre Max Clark will officially become a Dragon this summer after agreeing a move to the region on a long-term deal.

Clark will join the Men of Gwent from English Premiership giants Bath Rugby, where he has made 85 appearances and scored nine tries since graduating from the club’s academy.

The 26-year-old – who stands 6ft 3in tall and weighs 15st 10lb - is known for his strong ball carrying ability as well as his defensive strengths.

The Wales-qualified centre becomes the fifth new recruit ahead of next season, joining JJ Hanrahan, Bradley Roberts, Rhodri Jones and Sean Lonsdale in agreeing a switch to Rodney Parade.

“Max is a talented young player who is eager to join us and start a new chapter, after spending his entire career at Bath,” said Dean Ryan, Director of Dragons Rugby.

“He’s a very ambitious player who really wants to impress in Wales and become a key part of what we are building for the years ahead.”

Bridgend-born midfield man Clark can operate at both inside or outside centre.

Clark said: “I’m unbelievably excited for what’s to come at Dragons.

“It’s a new challenge for me and I feel it’s what’s needed to move forward as a player.

“Looking at next season’s squad, I have high hopes for our future and look for forward to making a contribution to our success.”
