Gary will be joined by many former players, including members of the victorious 2001 Principality Cup winning side. The event will be held at Rodney Parade, Newport on Friday 8th November 2013.
After playing only 6 test matches for the Springboks Gary Teichmann was appointed as captain in 1996, and went on to become one of South Africa's most successful captains. The Springboks, with Teichmann at the helm, were considered by many the greatest South African team in history. In all Teichmann played 42 tests for the Springboks, and held the record for the most consecutive test matches played for the Springboks with 39.
In 1999 Teichmann opted to move to Wales where he played his rugby for Newport RFC. Having captained the side, he was involved in one of the most successful era’s in the club’s rich history which included their first Principality Cup win (beating Neath 18-13) in 24 years.
The evening will commence at 7.30pm and will include a sumptuous two-course dinner, tales of
Newport’s historic Principality Cup win, live Q&A, raffle and auction.
Tables of 10 are available at £450. A quantity of individual covers on shared tables are also available at £45 per head. We also have x30 VIP tickets available at £65 per person. You will receive a champagne reception with Gary in one of the stadium's executive boxes along with prime location seating for the main event.
