Dragons v Toyota Cheetahs Match Day Guide

The Dragons take on Toyota Cheetahs in the Guinness Pro14 at Rodney Parade tonight, kick off 7:35pm.

Dragons Head Coach, Bernard Jackman has included Welsh Internationals Cory Hill, Elliot Dee and Hallam Amos in the changes he has made for tonigt's clash with Toyota Cheetahs who make their first visit to Rodney Parade.

Sarel Pretorius returns to the starting XV to play his final game for the Dragons at Rodney Parade ahead of his return to South Africa, whilst Sam Beard and Connor Edwards are paired at centre.

Amongst the Forwards, as well as the returning Dee and Hill, the back row sees Aaron Wainwright returns alongside Harrison Keddie and Lewis Evans

William Small-Smith is back in action after injury, replacing Craig Barry who was on loan from the Stormers.  Niel Marais moves to inside centre, replacing the injured Nico Lee and Rabz Maxwano moves to the starting line-up to replace Luther Obi who sustained an injury in the previous match.

MATCH DAY ENTERTAINMENT

The We Fight Any Claim Family Zone is open from 5pm for the game, with plenty going on for children and families to enjoy, including free face painting, Popcorn and Candy Floss, resident DJ, Crafts and the chance for you to collect Dragons player autographs. 

CONTACTLESS PAYMENT AT BARS

Gates open at 6pm, but The Burnett Suite will be accessible from 6.30pm as the team requires the room from 6pm. The Watkins bar, the Bisley concourse bar and the marquee will all be available at gates opening and we are pleased to confirm we now have contactless payment on almost all bars. 

After the match our resident band RETROSPECT will perform.

TOP TIPS FOR ENJOYING THE GAME

1. Arrive Early: Come and enjoy the atmosphere at Rodney Parade and avoid the rush, with our We Fight Any Claim Family zone open from 5pm and gates opening an hour and half before kick-off.

Pre-match there’s the chance to collect autographs with Dragons players in the marquee and you can get pre-match drinks and a bite to eat, plus plenty of activities for children.

2. Contactless Payment: Payments at bars can now be made by contactless,  but food units still require cash payments.  The nearest cash points are on Clarence Place and Corporation Road should you require one.

3. Don’t forget your tickets: No duplicate tickets will be issued, so bring your tickets, particularly if you selected Print@Home.

4. Check the ground regulations: Please refrain from going on the pitch which is strictly off limit. This is to ensure you adhere to the Stadium Ground Regulations.

5. Stay onside: There are plenty of bars around the ground so please do not bring alcohol onto the premises as it is prohibited within our Ground Regulations. Remember Rodney Parade is a family venue so please respect your fellow supporters.

6. Enjoy: We want you to have a great night out supporting the Dragons so have a great day and enjoy your visit to Rodney Parade.

7. There will be live music after the match from RETROSPECT in the We Fight Any Claim Family Zone.

8. Win: Our Friars Walk match day partners are Gourmet Burger Kitchen. Enjoy a free beer with every burger purchased before and after today’s match by simply showing your match ticket or season membership card.

COMMUNITY ACTIVITY

The Guard of Honour teams will again enjoy the match day experience and soak up the atmosphere as they ‘parade around the pitch’ at halftime. Please give primary school pupils from Durand, Glasllwch, Maindee, Ysgol y Ffin a big cheer as they pass! We would like to give a big thanks to all our clubs and schools for their amazing support.
