Amos, 24, has been ruled out of action since dislocating his elbow in the Guinness PRO14 clash with Leinster Rugby at the RDS Arena in mid-September.
However, the flying back has now pencilled in his target games to make a return for Bernard Jackman’s men.
“It’s going well and the rehab is going as well as it could have,” said Amos. “It was a pretty traumatic injury, but no operation was needed and the target was always four to six weeks.
“I’m now looking at the Northampton or Ulster home games, depending on how the next few weeks of rehab go. I’m back to full range and it’s now about strengthening.
“It’s frustrating, but it is part and parcel of the game and I’ve stayed positive. And it means I can do some more study - so it’s not all bad!
“Jordan (Williams) at 15 has been on fire so you have always got to work to get your place back. But hopefully it shouldn’t be too long a layoff for me and I’ll be back soon.
“The autumn internationals are on the horizon and it something I have spoken to the coaches and physios about and I’m aiming for that,” he added.
“I don’t think I will back when the squad is named so it is whether I can get back playing and force my way into the thinking.
“It’s an exciting season, especially with what is coming at the end of it. Every player in Wales is looking at that and the more you play this season, and hopefully the better you play, the more chance you’ve got of sneaking into that.”
Amos was a special guest of the Dragons Community team on Monday as Rodney Parade hosted the Welsh Deaf Rugby Community Day.
The wing also met children from Tiryberth Primary School who were attending a digital education experience with Value Added Education.
“It’s been great fun,” said Amos. “It wasn’t so long ago that I was here doing the exact same camps and events with the community staff.
“I loved my time here and I remember coming to meet Ian Gough and then five years later I was playing alongside him at the Dragons. Some of these children could be up in the senior squad before I retire yet!
“It’s days like this, and all the community work we do, that make the region so special,” he added.
“It’s certainly changed a bit - we didn’t have ipads when I did it. But it’s fantastic as players to get behind this and show our support for all the community work.”
Dragons return to action at Rodney Parade this Saturday against Cardiff Blues (kick-off 5.15pm). Advance price tickets are available until midnight Friday.
